LAW AND ORDER CODE REVISION
Discussion on October 8, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.
During Tribal Council Meeting

The Ponca Tribal Council will be reviewing proposed amendments to the Law and Order Code.
The revisions are being considered because the Tribal Council wants to expand the Indian Child Welfare Advisory Board by changing the composition of the Board.
There are changes being proposed to Title III. The revisions being considered include but are
not limited to the following:
Section 3-4-5 #1 – changes the number of the Board from 5 to 8 and adds term limit of two years
Section 3-4-5 #2 – new section that states if a member of the Board is serving based on their position, and they are removed from their position, then they are automatically removed from the Board.

There will be a discussion by Tribal Council that is open for public comment on October 8, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as it may be heard.
