LAW AND ORDER CODE REVISION
Discussion on January 23, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.

The Ponca Tribal Council will be reviewing proposed amendments to the Law and Order Code.
The revisions are being considered because the Election Board wants to ensure that the Election Process in 2024 will be fair and impartial.
There are changes being proposed to Title IX. Click here to view a redlined version of the proposed amendments. The revisions being considered include but are not limited to the following:
- Section 9-3-3 Adding a requirement for the Registrar to attend Quarterly meetings during odd years and monthly during even years
- Section 9-3-3 Require the Registrar to send out a voter registration form upon receiving a change of address from a Tribal Member.
- Section 9-3-6 Requiring a registered voter who moves within their voting district to re-register to vote with an updated address and provide the change of address form to the Registrar before ballots are sent out
- Section 9-8-2 The Process for Petitions for Recall will be changed.

There will be a discussion by Tribal Council that is open for public comment on January 23, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as it may be heard.
