In a collaboration between the Domestic Violence Program, Behavioral Health Youth Program, and the Social Service’s Project Venture Specialist, the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is hosting activities for the Norfolk community on the topic of Every Child Matters.
Join us for a showing of the movie “Older Than America.” The movie will be shown in the gym. Popcorn and other light snacks will be provided. Doors open at 5:30 pm, so come early and bring your chairs, comfy blankets, and pillows!

Community members are invited to join the Ponca Tribe team and youth group participants in a Planting of the Pinwheels activity. Attendees will have the opportunity to plant an orange pinwheel at the Norfolk campus and listen to a presentation on the importance and history of Every Child Matters.

In honor of Every Child Matters Awareness Day, the Domestic Violence program would like to invite the community to learn about the effects the American Indian boarding school system had on Native Americans in the past and present.
The event will include a presentation on the effects boarding schools had on our ancestors who attended or were affected by the boarding school era, followed by a Talking Circle to allow participants to share their thoughts on the personal and cultural effects of the American Indian boarding schools. There will also be a pinwheel activity, where participants can set pinwheels into the ground with a message written. (Family member names, boarding school names, prayers, etc.)
Please park in the north parking lot to enter the community room.

Behavioral Health would like to invite all youth in our District 1 (Niobrara office) to join us for youth group every 3rd Saturday of the month! This is for ages K-12. Youth must be enrolled in a federally recognized tribe to attend.
Applications can be picked up at the Niobrara office or sent to you via email.
The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska offices and clinics will be closed Monday, September 4th, in observance of Labor Day.
Offices will reopen for clients on Tuesday, September 5th.
