The Tribal Home Visiting (THV) Program is a free program that provides individualized services to families who are prenatal or have children from birth to age five who are enrolled in a federally recognized Tribe located in the Lincoln and Omaha areas. THV offers support that honors family strengths, culture, and connection.
About the Program
Family is at the center of the THV Program. Utilizing the Parents as Teachers Curriculum, our Home Visitors support families with:
- Understanding your child’s growth and development
- Strengthening parent-child relationships and bonds
- Navigating resources that support your family’s goals
- Building confidence in your parenting journey
Home Visits
Families within this program will have an assigned certified THV Visitor who will implement high-quality, culturally relevant, evidence-based visits to ensure our families have access to knowledge and resources.
Each visit will have core teaching of increasing parenting knowledge and skills that foster our families’ growth, health, and well-being. Additionally, any data collected by the Tribal Home Visiting program is for use within the program ONLY and will not be distributed to outside entities.
The number and frequency of visits will vary for each family. At-home visits are preferred; however, other locations can be utilized if agreed upon with the THV Visitor and the family. Length of service will also vary, but each visit will be 90 minutes minimum.
Group Connections
THV offers monthly Group Connections, where families can come together to connect with other parents and caregivers, build friendships and social support, and share experiences with families who have children of similar ages.
