Science Night

Fred LeRoy 3rd Floor Conference Room | 2602 J Street | Omaha, NE

Join the Environmental Department for a hands-on science activity and discover how everyday items can impact our waterways.

The activity will help visualize the effects pollution has in our waterways. The goal is to demonstrate how everyday materials can add up to larger environmental problems and emphasize that education and awareness are important first steps toward protecting our water resources.

A small visual presentation or poster will be used throughout the activity to help participants understand the real-world effects of pollution on our waterways.

Each item below represents a real pollutant:
• Coffee grounds – Soil erosion
• Vegetable oil- Oil spill
• Pony beads- Trash
• Kool aid- Chemicals
